Microsoft Encarta Kids 2009 is a powerful and interactive learning tool that allows kids to have lots of fun while they learn.
This electronic encyclopaedia contains articles, photos and illustrations, videos and animations, audio and maps. Encarta Premium also includes 3D ancient sites, interactive world atlases and virtual tours. This software comes equipped with web links and updates from the internet that allows your kids to always have the most current information accessible to them.
One aspect that everyone will enjoy is the games and fun stuff category. Teachers can use this feature to carry out set inductions or even assessments on their learning objectives. For example, a teacher is teaching a lesson on vertebrates. At the end of the lesson there is a game called ‘Bird or Mammal?” (Critter Corner, Games and Fun Stuff, Microsoft Encarta Kids 2009) in which the children must identify birds from mammals and place them in different categories.
